Elton John to Madonna: Sync well at the Super Bowl

Sir Elton John has some advice for Madonna in advance of her halftime gig during Sunday's Super Bowl XLVI: "Make sure you lip-sync good."

The "Rocket Man" singer said on "Good Morning America" Monday that outside of recent Super Bowl performances by the Rolling Stones and Prince he's never seen a decent Super Bowl halftime show -- "never ever."

Fans of John should expect to see him in a Pepsi advertisement Sunday with "X Factor" winner Melanie Amaro.
Spice Girls reunion?

Attention, Spice Girls fans! There might be a very special moment coming up starring Scary, Baby, Ginger, Posh and Sporty.

According to British newspaper the Sun, Melanie (Scary Spice) Brown says that the pop group could reunite June 4 for the big celebration at Buckingham Palace marking the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's ascension to the throne.

The Spice Girls previously reunited for a tour in 2007-08.
Jack White preps solo album

Jack White's "Blunderbuss," the first full-length solo album for the Detroit native, will be released April 24. The CD will be issued via his Nashville-based Third Man Records label and Columbia Records.

"Blunderbuss" is "an album I couldn't have released until now," White said in a statement Monday. "These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colors on my own canvas."

The album's first single, "Love Interruption," can be streamed at www.jackwhiteIII.com. A vinyl version of the single will be released Feb. 7.
Detroit love at Sundance

"Searching for Sugar Man," a Swedish documentary about a Mexican-American Detroit singer-songwriter known as Rodriguez, won the world cinema audience award and a world cinema special jury prize for its celebration of the artistic spirit at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival awards over the weekend.

"Detropia," a doc that explores the city's economic challenges, grabbed a prize for U.S. documentary editing. The film will air later this year on PBS.

• Adele and LMFAO won two NRJ Awards in Cannes over the weekend. Justin Bieber also won the 2012 NRJ Award of Honor. The NRJ Awards are music awards handed out by a French radio station.

• John Rich, 86, the TV director who won an Emmy for the "All in the Family" episode in which Sammy Davis Jr. smooches Archie Bunker, died Sunday, the Los Angeles Times reports.

• Representatives from Olympia Entertainment said Monday that a second Barry Manilow concert at the Fox Theatre has been added. Tickets ($24.99, $64.99, $84.99 and $144.99) for the new March 10 date will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. Manilow also will play March 9.

• For the second time in two weeks, the Detroit Institute of Arts has extended its hours to accommodate visitors for the "Rembrandt and the Face of Jesus" exhibit.
